MATT KEMP
ACCOUNT DIRECTOR
Matt Kemp is a Regional Director at KBKG and is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Matt works closely with companies, and their CPAs, in identifying tax-saving opportunities to lower their tax burden, focusing on the areas of Research & Development tax credits, Energy Tax Benefits, and Cost Segregation studies.
Before joining KBKG, Matt Kemp spent seven years in business development operations for a forensic expert witness firm, connecting clients with on-point technical experts to effectively address the issues specific to their legal casework. His background also includes experience in small business financing, specializing in the legal and medical industries. He appreciated the financial challenges and opportunities in operating a successful business or focused practice.
Matt Kemp holds a B.S in Biology from Samford University and attended medical school at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Matt recently relocated back to the South after eight years in Denver, CO. He has traded his snow skis for a 2-child bike carrier. Matt has been involved with the Southern Offroad Bicycle Association (SORBA) Chattanooga and finds joy in helping others access the sport. He is excited to spend time with his wife and two young children exploring things closer to home.
