MIKE KNISS

DIRECTOR - RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TAX CREDIT SERVICES

Mike Kniss is a Director for KBKG's Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit consulting practice. Based in San Jose, CA, Mike has 10 years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services to companies of all sizes within various industries, including pharmaceutical, medical devices, technology, aerospace and defense, architecture and engineering, manufacturing, automotive, food and beverage, and other professional services.

Prior to KBKG, Mike obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and began his career in the pharmaceutical industry, working in cell culture and purification of biologics for Fortune 500 companies. Since transitioning into public accounting a decade ago, Mike has gained extensive experience assisting clients with the R&D credit by managing and reviewing their studies, providing them with technical guidance surrounding the qualifications of their credit claims, and representing them before the IRS.

In his free time, Mike enjoys traveling both domestically and internationally with his fiancée and friends, long distance running, hiking, reading, and watching sports.
