Mike Platt, managing principal of The Platt Group and INSIDE Public Accounting, has helped local and regional firms across North America grow and thrive since 1985. With a varied background as past executive of two accounting firm associations and co-founder of AccountingWEB.com, Mike continues to bring fresh ideas, approaches and information to firms across the globe through INSIDE Public Accounting, the publication he and his wife Kelly have owned since 2006.
A sought-after speaker both domestically and internationally, Mike specializes in accounting firm trends, innovation, leadership, benchmarking and analysis. Thirty-plus years of hands-on experience and interaction with firms of all sizes gives him a unique perspective on what works and what doesn’t inside accounting firms.
His interest in working with the accounting profession has been fueled by his desire to help professionals reach their potential. “I’m driven by helping others see things differently, motivating them to do things differently, and sharing success stories on how others like them have overcome the obstacles that are common in professionals’ lives,” Mike says. Mike lives in Indianapolis with Kelly where they both enjoy travel as well as spending time together at home along with their dogs, cats and fish. Mike holds a masters degree in Business Administration from George Washington University.
