To promote team-building, philanthropy and overall support, KBKG has planned numerous volunteer activities in the upcoming months. The events that we have achieved thus far include: donating to the Foothill Unity Center for the “Warm the Tummy, Warm the Heart” Soup Drive in February, donating clothes to the Dolores Mission Thrift Shop during our “Spring Cleaning” event, and volunteering at the “Best Friends” Pet Adoption Center in May.
In August, KBKG prepared dinner for all the guests, staff and children of the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House. The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House provides a community supported “home away from home” for families coming into Pasadena to seek advanced medical treatment for their critically or terminally ill children. One of our team members, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts School, planned and prepared the meal with our other staff. Simultaneously, our staff engaged guests in activities such as bocce ball, cupcake decorating, capture the flag and origami. With the frequent travels back and forth from the hospitals, the families deserve some relaxation time along with a home cooked meal.
KBKG also collected school supplies for the “Back to School” VIP (Violence Intervention Program) drive. VIP is an organization that donates to less fortunate children. This will be the third year that we will be donating to this program because “every child deserves a safe childhood”.
As for the remainder of the year:
October – Lee Denim Day – In support of the American Cancer Society, we are having an in-house activity to donate to breast cancer awareness and research. Friends and family outside the firm are more than welcomed to join our fundraising activity.
Our final volunteer activity for 2013 is participating with a San Fernando Valley organization called Friends & Helpers. This organization supplies over 600 families at the shelters with holiday gifts, 4,000 stockings for children and also necessities to help each family. We are going to stuff stockings with lots of goodies, just in time for the holiday season.
