Luis (Lou) Guerrero, MBT, is Vice President and Co-Founder of KBKG, Inc. a credits, incentives and cost recovery tax consulting firm. As the firms Tax Practice Leader, he is responsible for a team of engineers and tax professionals that addresses cost segregation, green energy tax credits, employment based tax credits and other tax-related matters. Mr. Guerrero is also responsible for the firms Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit Department. The R&D Tax Credit is intended to promote innovation and it allows companies to receive tax credits for expenses incurred during R&D.

After earning his undergraduate degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance and economics from California State University, Chico, Mr. Guerrero rounded out his formal education by completing the Accounting Core Program at the University of California at Santa Barbara and earned his Master’s in Business Taxation from Golden Gate University.

Prior to joining KBKG in 1995, he was with the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche in their Los Angeles and Long Beach offices.

Mr. Guerrero has provided continuing education and has presented on Research & Development Tax Credits to thousands of CPA’s. In addition, Mr. Guerrero is a member of the California Society of CPA’s, the American Institute of CPA’s and previously severed on the board of ALPFA (Formerly the American Association of Hispanic CPA’s). Active in local youth sports and other organizations, Mr. Guerrero served on the board of Westlake Baseball Association, has coached hundreds of boys and girls in baseball and softball and currently Mr. Guerrero serves on the Westlake Village Community Park & YMCA on the Project Review Task Force, Campaign Cabinet, and Major Gifts Committee.
